They recommend bidding in person to get the full auction house atmosphere. Otherwise a buyer would be able to bid via telephone or internet.
What is DVLA timed auction?
A DVLA Timed online auction differs from a traditional DVLA Venue auction in that there is no physical auction to attend. Bidders submit “maximum bids” which are invisible to other bidders and bidding starts at the starting price (plus charges) for each registration.
